How to disable ILL borrowing requests when the library is closed
Applies to
- WorldShare Interlibrary Loan
- Tipasa
Answer
While you can change your supplier status to disable ILL lending requests from other libraries, there is currently no equivalent setting to turn off borrowing requests from patrons.
As a workaround, you can remove any links you have created for patrons to access the ILL request form until your library is ready to accept borrowing requests again.
Libraries with WMS, Tipasa, or WorldCat Discovery can sign into the OCLC Service Configuration (worldcat.org/config) and navigate to WorldCat Discovery and WorldCat Local > Place Hold/Request Buttons > Resource Sharing (Any Level) and change the Type of button configuration to None. This will remove ILL request buttons from item records in WorldCat Discovery. You will need to change the setting back when your library is ready to accept borrowing requests again.
