How to create a report of titles most requested by patrons via interlibrary loan
Applies to
- WorldShare Interlibrary Loan
Answer
You can use the monthly Borrower Resource Sharing Stats Report, available on the OCLC Usage Statistics site, to see a detailed list of all borrowing requests from your patrons from a specified month. This report includes the title and format of the material requested, the lender information, request ID, and more. You can export the reports from each month you're interested in and process the information in Excel to come up with a report of the most requested items.
Here is what to do:
- Sign in to OCLC Usage Statistics at http://www.stats.oclc.org using an ILL, FirstSearch, or cataloging authorization and password.
- Once signed into Usage Statistics, click the menu option for OCLC WorldShare Interlibrary Loan.
- Click the Borrower Resource Sharing Stats Report link.
- You can change the month using the Period dropdown menu, and you can click the Export button to download the report as an Excel spreadsheet.
- Once you have downloaded all of the months you need, you can combine the content into one Excel document and then use Excel's functionality to sort, filter, count, and create graphs of the data.
