Individual libraries are able to set their own policies for damaged and lost books. OCLC does not enforce a set policy for this. For guidelines on lending, it may be helpful to review the RUSA Interlibrary Loan Code for the United States. Section 4.9 describes the responsibilities of the requesting library.
