Include Request ID with problem reports
When reporting an issue with My Account, it's very helpful to include the Request ID. It can be found at the bottom of the screen on which the issue occurred. Including this information allows us to directly trace what happened on the request we are troubleshooting.
New features and enhancements
Customize My Account by hiding specific tabs or buttons
The availability of specific tabs in My Account depends on your library's subscriptions. This table lists the tabs and their corresponding subscription requirements:
Tab | Available for libraries with... |
Checkouts | WorldShare Circulation |
Requests | WorldShare Circulation or Tipasa |
Fees | WorldShare Circulation |
Borrowing history (if enabled) | WorldShare Circulation |
Search activity | WorldCat Discovery or FirstSearch |
Profile | WorldShare Circulation, Tipasa, WorldCat Discovery, or FirstSearch |
Now, you can provide your library users with a more streamlined My Account experience by hiding specific features and simplifying navigation. You can hide any combination of these features:
- Checkouts tab
- Requests tab
- Create request button
- Fees tab
For example, this can be useful if you prefer to hide the create request button or the fees tab from users.
To hide a feature, go to OCLC Service Configuration > My Account > Display Settings > My Account features.
Turn off the tab or button you wish to hide, and click Save.

For libraries with WorldCat Discovery or FirstSearch
My Account provides your users with several access points from My Account to WorldCat Discovery.
If your library provides its users with another service as their primary discovery tool, WorldCat Discovery access points may be confusing or lead to pages that aren't intended for general use. Hiding these access points can help ensure a more consistent and seamless user experience.
Previously, you could ask OCLC to hide the WorldCat Discovery access points for your library. Now, you are able to hide them yourself. The access points include:
- Search box
- Advanced Search
- Search activity tab
- Navigation to saved searches, items, and lists
- Title links to details in WorldCat Discovery
To hide the WorldCat Discovery access points, go to OCLC Service Configuration > My Account > Display Settings > WorldCat Discovery features.
Turn off the search and save options, and click Save.
The WorldCat Discovery access points are no longer available to your users. For example, this screenshot shows Tipasa features only:
