Receiving an error stating "Unable to parse collection information" when attempting to log into the Project Client

Symptom
  • Logging into the Project Client returns the error "Unable to parse collection information from https://server#####.contentdm.oclc.o...ectionInfo.php.  Following error resulted while attempting to parse returned result: Data at the root level is invalid. Line 1, position 1."

Resolution

Confirm the user name matches the OCLC LDAP Account that was created at https://ldap-accounts.oclc.org/.

Check the CONTENTdm Administration Portal users list to verify the correct user name was added to the Users list.

Note: OCLC LDAP Accounts created after the move to the new WorldCat.org in September 2022 include different character restrictions. If the user name returning the above error contains a special character, it will need to be deleted and recreated without the special character(s). Contact OCLC Support and supply the user name to request this be completed.
