Is it possible to undo an action in WorldShare ILL or Tipasa?
Applies to
- WorldShare ILL
- Tipasa
Answer
It is not currently possible to reverse a status action in WorldShare ILL or Tipasa, such as Recalling, Receiving, Returning, Shipping, or Completing a request. In these situations, it is best to reach out to the lender or borrower regarding the mistake.
Recommended Workarounds
- Incorrectly Shipped
- Contact the borrowing library to inform them of the incorrect status
- Confirm with them if they were incorrectly billed via IFM
- The Borrowing library will need to create a new request to receive the item from a different lender
- Incorrectly Closed
- Lending library will need to contact the Borrower to inform them of the incorrect status
- The Borrower can send a new request for that same book to the Lender with a note saying it is a duplicate request.
- The Lender can enter the appropriate Due Date and say Yes, but not actually ship the item.
- The Borrower will check the item in.
- When it is time, the Borrower will return the item under the new request ID number.
- Incorrectly Returned
- Contact the lending library to inform of the incorrect status
- The borrowing library should mark the requset as Not Returned. This ensures the system knows that it will take more time for the item to be returned. If the lending library does not mark the item as Not Returned, the item status will automatically change from Returned to Returned/Complete? after 30 days.
