Why can't I find this article from WorldCat.org in Connexion?

Symptom
  • Searches in Connexion do not bring up content found in WorldCat.org
Applies to
  • Connexion client
Resolution

Connexion only allows you to edit WorldCat records. Your article is likely provided by a vendor and entered into the central index, but not the WorldCat database itself.

WorldCat.org is a mix of content added by librarians through Connexion, as well as content provided directly by data vendors. Records added through Connexion and visible for editing there will appear in WorldCat.org with an OCLC Number.

Material added directly from vendors will appear instead with a Unique Identifier and cannot be found in Connexion. These are usually for records like article citations, book chapters, or archival material.
