Why am I seeing blocks where the delimiter should be in Connexion client

Symptom
  • Blocks appear where subfield delimiters should be on records
Applies to
  • Connexion client all versions
Resolution

 

The currently selected font does not support the subfield delimiter character and substitutes  blocks.  To fix:

  1. Click Tools > Options > Fonts.
  2. Under Records and Lists, scroll down and select 'System'.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Close and restart the client.
  5. Display a record.  The proper subfield delimiter should now show.

Additional information

This applies to English language records, foreign language records may need a different font
