How to remove a shared controlled vocabulary from the "Use a controlled vocabulary from another field or collection" drop-down menu

Symptom
  • A shared controlled vocabulary that was deleted still appears in the "Use a controlled vocabulary from another field or collection" drop-down menu
Applies to
  • CONTENTdm
Resolution
  1. Navigate to any collection
  2. Locate a field with Vocab set to No
  3. Select Edit
  4. Set "Controlled vocabulary" to Yes
  5. Select "Use a controlled vocabulary from another field or collection" and select the controlled vocabulary which needs removal from the drop-down menu
  6. Save Changes
  7. Select Edit again
  8. Click "Administer shared controlled vocabulary"
  9. Select "Do not share this controlled vocabulary"
  10. Select "Change Sharing"
  11. Once this is complete, Set "Controlled vocabulary" back to No for the field and Save Changes
