Choreo Insights release notes, June 2025

Release Date: June 11, 2025

Introduction

This release of Choreo Insights provides a number of new features and enhancements in addition to numerous bug fixes. These features will help you manage more complex workflows, including:

  • Comparing title lists to libraries in the B group
  • Viewing query results by year of publication
  • Filtering queries by three-letter K subclasses
  • Filtering queries by circulation date

Many of these enhancements are the direct result of your feedback.

New features and enhancements

Comparing title list to the B group

Choreo Insights now gives you and your library the ability to run Choreo queries with a title list in the A group and compare them to other libraries or title lists. The ability to compare title lists to other institutions or other title lists can help your library determine the difference between packages or if other institutions hold certain lists of titles. This new feature is available on the front page of Choreo Insights.

Comparing a title list to the B group

The Lists (A) and Lists (B) options both use the pre-defined comparator lists that come with Choreo Insights as well as user-uploaded title lists. To start a comparison between a title list in the A group and a comparator group made of one or more institutions, you will want to clear out the My Libraries area of your institution. Next, you will select the B group from the drop-down list if you have already created it. Then you will select the list you want to use for the A group.

From here, you will apply any other filters that pertain to the query you want to run before clicking the 'Run Report' button and getting your results.

List to List Comparisons

Another benefit of this functionality is the ability to compare title lists to each other. In order to perform this type of comparison, you will add a title list to the Lists (A) area of Choreo. You will then want to add the list you want to compare with to the Lists (B) group as well. From here, you can choose the analysis type and filters that best apply to your use case. Before you run your query, make sure that the My Libraries and Comparator Groups areas are empty to avoid getting erroneous results and having to run your query again.

View query results by year of publication

Choreo Insights now gives you and your library another visualization to view your query results by year of publication. This new visualization makes it easy to quickly determine the age distribution of your query results in Choreo.

Viewing results by year of publication

To take advantage of the new year of publication visualization, you will need to first run a Choreo Insights query. Once you run your Choreo Insights query and you see the results, you will see a new option above the visualization that says "YEAR OF PUBLICATION." To see the new visualization, you will click the button.

Like the Subject Classification visualization, you are able to export the visualization in a variety of formats.

Filtering queries by three-letter K subclasses

Choreo Insights now gives you and your library the ability to filter your results by the three-letter K LC subclasses. This new feature allows you and your library to quickly and easily filter down to specific areas of your law collection.

Filtering queries by circulation date

Choreo Insights now gives you and your library the ability to filter your queries by circulation date. This new feature makes it easy to filter down to when parts of your collection circulated or did not circulate. This filter can be used in conjunction with the circulation usage filter. Currently, WMS customers are the only ones who have circulation data available in Choreo Insights.

Usage 1.png

Using the Last Circulation Date

To use the new Last Circulation Date filter, which is disabled by default, you will first need to click on the drop-down menu. From here, you will select from the options: Before, After, Equal To, or Between.

Usage 2.png

After you select one of the options, you will then be presented with a date filter. You can either choose to type in the date that is relevant to you, or you can click on the calendar icon to open the date selection widget.

Usage 3.png

When selecting a date, you will want to select the date before or after the date you are looking for, depending on the operator you choose. This filter uses greater than or less than operations. Example: If you want to look at circulations from 01/01/2025 to present, you will need to select 12/31/2024 in the filter.

Bug fixes

  • An issue that changed how the visualization for the Overlap Analysis type has been fixed. The Overlap visualization is now appearing as normal.
