Why doesn't Discovery include the database name when creating a citation?

Applies to
  • WorldCat Discovery
Answer

If there is more than one link on a record, the citation tool will not populate the citation with the database name because the system has no way of knowing which database was used to access the information.

The Cite a Record window always includes the note that citations may include missing data that you will need to manually add to the citation. Missing information is indicated in capital letters.
