Release Date: March 16, 2023

Introduction

The following release notes are for the MARCH 16, 2023 release of WorldCat Discovery,.

WorldCat Discovery March Release Highlights

This release of WorldCat Discovery includes bug fixes:

  • Increased place hold timeout window
  • Users no longer receive a security alert when exporting citations to RefWorks

Include Request ID with problem reports

When reporting an issue with WorldCat Discovery, it is extremely helpful to include the Request ID. The Request ID is found at the bottom of the screen on which the issue occurred. Including this information allows us to directly trace what happened on the request we are troubleshooting.

Bug fixes

Increased place hold timeout window

Previously, when placing a hold on a record with a large number of items, users received an error: “Ineligible for place hold. No pickup locations available.” With this release, the timeout window for the place hold page has been increased. Users will not see this error unless they cross the new timeout threshold.

Users no longer receive a security alert when exporting citations to RefWorks

Previously, when exporting a citation to RefWorks, users received the following error: “The information you have entered on this page will be sent over an insecure connection and could be read by a third party. Are you sure you want to send this information?” With this release, we have updated the export process so that users will no longer receive a warning when exporting to RefWorks.
