Why can a patron not renew checkouts or place holds in Capira?

  • A single patron is unable to renew checked out items or place holds

1. Have the user remove their account from the app and sign back in.
2. Check to make sure that the user has the latest version of the app.
3. In your ILS, delete the patron's barcode, save, and then add the barcode back in.
4. Have the user uninstall the app and reinstall.
5. Have the user log into your online catalog and verify that they can perform these functions there. If they cannot, please contact your ILS provider.

Please contact OCLC Support with the following information:

  • Patron's barcode and password
  • Patron's device information (Apple or Android, model, OS version)
  • Title and material type of items failing to renew or place hold on
  • Any specific errors received in the app
