New features and enhancements
Users will now receive push notifications for account related messages
Your users will now receive their account messages directly in their device's notification center, ensuring that they stay informed about their account even when they are not actively using the app. Previously, all notifications were only delivered inside of the app, requiring your users to open the app in order to be informed of important account information.
Key Features:
- Timely Updates: Account notifications will be sent every 12 hours, keeping your users up to date with any changes or important information.
- Seamless Access: Clicking on a notification will instantly take users to the Capira app, allowing them to quickly access and manage their library account.
- Comprehensive Notifications: Account notifications will include information about overdue items, hold pickups, and fines/fees (where applicable).
- Background Delivery: Push notifications will be received even if the Capira app is not open or running in the background.
Please note:
- Update needed: Your users will need to update their app in order to see this new feature.
- No In-App Notifications: In-app notifications will no longer be delivered, streamlining the notification process and reducing the need to open the app for updates.
- Opt-In Requirement: Your users must opt-in to receive push notifications for the Capira app on their device in order to receive account notifications.
- To opt-in to notifications, your users should go to their device settings, where they can enable notifications for individual apps.
- Logged-In Users: To receive account notifications, your users must have the latest version of your CapiraMobile app installed and be logged in.
SirsiDynix Symphony filter improvements
Your users can now find materials based on your library's different material types using the advanced search Material filter.
Information on how to set up catalog filters can be found on our Symphony Help page.
Consortia using Polaris ILS will now see copies ordered based on their patron's default library
When your users search for items in the app, they will now see the copies from their default library appear at the top of the list of available copies.
Evergreen libraries now see a complete list of fines and fees
Fines and fees have been enhanced for Evergreen libraries so that your users now see miscellaneous fees on their account such as lost disc fees, DVD case replacement fees, etc.
Bug fixes
TLC-LS2 library users now see items showing "overdue" on the day after their due date
Items now correctly show as "overdue" the day after their due date. Previously, items showed an "overdue" status on the day that they were due.
SirsiDynix Symphony users now see correct items listed in their Reading History
For libraries that have enabled Reading History for their users, they will now see a full list of their reading history. Previously, users saw a duplicate list of their current checkouts, not their entire checkout history.
Innovative Sierra "in transit" items now show correct status
Holds that are in transit to their pickup location now correctly show the "In Transit" status in the patron's hold list. Previously, these items were being displayed as "Ready", confusing users.
