I cannot log on to WorldShare. I am getting a message that says: "You are not authorized to access WorldShare Management Application."

Symptom

  • You are attempting to log in to WorldShare, but instead you get one of the following error messages:
    • “You are not authorized to access WorldShare Management Application. You are logged into YOUR INSTITUTION NAME. Log out before logging into another institution.”
    • "You are not authorized to access WorldShare Management Application. You are logged into WorldCat Institution (Service Configuration). Log out before logging into another institution."

Applies to

  • WorldShare

Resolution

  • If you have never logged in before and are seeing this error, it may be due to your account not being assigned the proper roles to access WorldShare.
    • Contact the WorldShare user with Admin roles for your institution and request that WorldShare roles be added to your account.
    • If you do not have an Admin at your institution, please contact OCLC Support.  Support will need to know your OCLC symbol and account username.
  • If you were able to log in previously but are suddenly seeing this error, it could be because changes have been made to your library's OCLC subscriptions. Verify all WorldShare subscriptions are current. Please contact OCLC Support to verify.
  • If you have Service Configuration open within the same browser, close it or open WorldShare within another browser.
  • Try to sign in using an incognito or private window. If you're able to log in there, this is most likely a browser caching issue, and you'll need to clear your main browser's cache and cookies.
