Why is my library not receiving lending requests?
Symptom
- You are expecting to receive ILL lending requests from other libraries, but you haven't received any in a while.
Applies to
- WorldShare Interlibrary Loan
- Tipasa
- ILLiad
Resolution
Your lending requests might be disabled or there might be a deflection policy automatically saying 'No' to lending requests submitted to your library. Access the OCLC Policies Directory and check the following:
- Supplier Status: From the Profile tab in the Policies Directory, look for OCLC Supplier. If it is set to "No," click Edit to change it to "Yes."
- Closures: From the Schedule tab in the Policies Directory, look for Closures. Your library may be set to closed. Look for any closures that cover the current date. If you want to start receiving lending requests again, you'll need to Edit or Delete the closure.
- Deflections: From the Policies tab in the Policies Directory, look for Deflections. One of your deflection policies might be deflecting more requests than intended. See the documentation on Deflections for more information. Contact OCLC Support if you're not sure how to fix the deflection policy.
Additional information
You can use the Resource Sharing Lender Reasons for No report available in OCLC Usage Statistics to see if requests are being deflected and why.
