Why do my ILL requests keep defaulting to the service type of Loan
Symptom
- Requests entered into the system default as Loans, despite their material format

Resolution
This is due to the Request Form not having the Service Type field. Without this data from the form, Constant Data cannot take action on this field and the ILL system is left to default the service type as Loan.
This can be fixed by ensuring your request form has the service type field on it.
- Log into OCLC Service Configuration
- Select WorldShare ILL
- Select Requet Form
- Select the form you would like to edit
- At the bottom of the Patron Section, select Add field to display on this Section
- Select the new added field and select Service Type from the list
- At the bottom of the form, select Save
You may edit where the Service Type is in terms of field order, or if it's required or not.
