What is the policy for Interlibrary Loans overdue fines?

Applies to
  • WorldShare Interlibrary Loans
  • Tipasa
Answer

Interlibrary Loan lending libraries do not charge fines from borrowing libraries, except in the case of a lost item. Then it is the borrowing library's responsibility to pay the replacement costs.

Many libraries choose to assess a fee from their patrons for late Interlibrary Loans, to ensure the prompt return of borrowed materials. Still, the lending library will not assess a fee.
