Alma/Rapido WorldShare integration 400 error

Symptom
  • You are sending a request from Alma to WorldShare and get an error message reading: Could not send message: Server returned HTTP response code: 400 for URL: https://worldcat.org/isoill/request/data
  • The error may be intermittent

Resolution

This is likely because of unwanted characters in the system control number (example: parenthesis). Remove these characters and the request should go through.
