I see an error when using WorldCat Discovery with staff roles

Symptom

  • You are trying to sign in to the user portal for Tipasa or WMS and get an error message saying "Oops. Something went wrong. You are not authorized to view this content."
  • Or, when signed in and attempting to load an ILL form you get the same Oops error message
  • Or, when signed in, navigating inside the user portal causes the same Opps error message
  • Or, you are directed to a blank ILL form when you are trying to access your account page

  • WorldCat Discovery
  • WorldShare Management Services (WMS)

Resolution

Ensure your account doesn't have the WorldShare ILL Partner role assigned. This role is not to be used by any actual staff account. It's intended for use with accounts that represent an institution with which you are making off-system requests (i.e., an institution not part of OCLC's ILL network). It's not intended for use by a staff or patron account.

If your WMS or Tipasa account has this role assigned, remove it.
