Does Relais support FTP, SFTP of FTPS

Applies to
  • Relais
Answer

We do not support uploading files using the SFTP Protocol but support "FTPS."  If they do not want to use the file transfer service because of security concerns...

They can use the staff portal to securely upload their files to Relais.

  1. Attach image files to their requests and then have them move the delivery sage using the "Add document" feature via the Supply tab.
  2. If they need to upload patron load files or Docline files via the "Transfer File(s)" option on the side menu.

Definition

FTP  ->  Stands for File Transfer Protocol . This protocol is used to transfer files between computers on a network

FTPS -> Stands for  FTP Secure. It is an extension to the commonly used File Transfer Protocol (FTP) that adds support for the Transport Layer Security (TLS) and the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) cryptographic protocols.

SFTP -> Stands for SSH File Transfer Protocol, or Secure File Transfer Protocol, is a separate protocol packaged with SSH that works in a similar way over a secure.

To turn this on, change the "Delivery method" toggle to "Secure FTP" and restart the File transfer service.
