When I have tested my Web pages in the TestWeb folder and I want to move them over to production, what is the best process to do this?

Symptom
  • You tested your TestWeb pages and you want to move them in production and you want to know the best process to do this
Applies to
  • ILLiad
Resolution

Here is the best process for moving pages over from the TestWeb to Production:

  1. Make a backup of the full ILLiad folder and put it somewhere locally just in case there is an issue.
  2. Copy over all the folders first and replace the folders in production (the ILLiad folder)
  3. If you do not have a log4d.props in the ILLiad folder, then copy over the log4d.props file as well.
  4. Sort the Webpages by Type and copy over all the .html Web pages to production (the ILLiad folder).
  5. The pages will be active when they are replaced.
  6. Do not copy over the Webpath.txt from TestWeb to the ILLiad folder.
  7. On the Web Server, Restart IIS.  If you are hosted by OCLC, please contact OCLC Support to restart IIS.
