I am trying to get into Web Circulation and I am getting an error message

  • When you go to your WebCirculation URL, you are getting a Configuration error

Resolution

If you are getting a Configuration error for Web Circulation (WebCirc) you need to do the following to fix the issue:

  1. Go to your Web Server to the ILLiad directory which includes all your services. By default, that address is c:\illiad\.
  2. Go to the Setup folder, then the WebCircUpdates, and then the highest version you have in the folders.  
  3. Copy the  WebCirc.zip file to your Web site path for WebCirc which is by default c:\inetpub\wwwroot\ILLiad\WebCirc\.
  4. Extract all the files, so the extracted files go to c:\inetpub\wwwroot\ILLiad\WebCirc. You will overwrite the files in that directory.

If you have problems with the WebCirc, you will most probably have a similar issue with WebReports, and you follow these steps:

  1. Go to your Web Server to the ILLiad directory which includes all your services. By default, that address is c:\illiad\.
  2. Go to the Setup folder, then the WebReportsUpdates, and then the highest version you have in the folders.  
  3. Copy the  WebCirc.zip file to your Web site path for WebReports which is by default c:\inetpub\wwwroot\ILLiad\WebReports\.
  4. Extract all the files, so the extracted files go to c:\inetpub\wwwroot\ILLiad\WebReports. You will overwrite the files in that directory.

After you have done the replacement of the files, you will also want to run the Shared Components updates by doing the following:

  1. Go to your Web Server to the ILLiad directory which includes all your services. By default, that address is c:\illiad\.
  2. Go to the Setup folder, then the SharedComponentsUpdates, and then the highest version you have in the folders.  
  3. Right-Click on the ILLiadSharedComponents.msi file and choose repair.
  4. The repair will run, and you will be back to the screen you were on before you ran the repair.

Finally, you will want to restart IIS (Internet Information Services).

Once you have completed this, you should check your WebCirc and WebReports pages to make sure they are working correctly.

If you are still having issues, Open up the ILLiad Customization Manager and look up VersionWebCirc and VersionWebReports. The versions should match the version you see as the highest Version folder in each of the Setup folders. The folders are:

  1. c:\ILLiad\Setup\WebCircUpdates\ and then the highest version folder.
  2. c:\ILLiad\Setup\WebReportsUpdates\ and then the highest version folder. 

If the Versions in the highest version folders are less than what is in the Customization Manager, then you need to run the ILLiad Update. You will need to get the latest version following the Updating ILLiad to the Latest Version documentation. You should choose the highest version.

If the version in the Customization Manager is less than the folders you see, then you need to update the Customization Manager, so the version matches what the folders are showing. Save the change. Then restart IIS.

Your WebCirc and WebReports pages should be working now. If you continue to have issues, please contact OCLC Support.
