I forgot the information I need to put in the SQL Alias Manager

Symptom
  • The site has a new machine or they lost their ATLAS SQL Alias Manager information and need to put it in again and they do not know how to do it or do not know what they need to put in
Applies to
  • ILLiad
Resolution

Do not put in either the Username or password.  If it's already in there, you need to remove both and then Save the file.  When doing this, ILLiad will put in the Username and Password. If this is the first time creating the connection, ILLiad shows up in the Username, and the Password will be filled in with asterisks. After saving the file, and removing the username and password and saving the file again, you will have to close the ATLAS SQL Alias Manager and open it up again to see the fields filled in.

Shared servers will also have Logon Accounts on the right side.  Self-hosted sites will need to contact your Web Server Administrator to find out what the password should be. Hosted ILLiad will need to contact OCLC Support

When the file is saved, it needs to be kept in the directory that the Client was installed in.  If it's put in a directory such as Documents, then the other modules like the ILLiad Customization Manager, or the ILLiad Staff Manager will not work.  Many places will have ILLiad installed in the c:\program files (x86)\ILLiad folder, so that is where to save the file.  After saving the file, click on the "Set Default (Local Machine)" icon.  If it is not selected, then ILLiad client will work, but other modules like the ILLiad Customization Manager or the ILLiad Staff Manager will not work.
