Set a WorldCat holdings audience level on a LHR

Discover how to set a WorldCat holdings audience level on a LHR in WorldShare Record Manager.

 Note: This option is only available for WMS libraries. For more information on Audience Levels, see WorldCat holding audience levels.

Overview

Setting an audience level for a LHR allows you to decide who can view that specific LHR. By default, the audience level is set to All Users, but can be updated individually or in bulk by using a script.

Set an audience level for a LHR in MARC 21-view

  1. Navigate to the local holdings record you would like to change the audience level for, or derive a Local Holdings Record if one does not yet exist.
  2. Open the LHR editor by clicking on the barcode or call number of the LHR.
  3. Select Record > Set LHR Audience Level to and choose the desired option from the drop-down menu.
  4. Click Save to complete the Audience Level change. A confirmation message will appear that states that the local holdings record has been saved.
  5. If the record was unable to be saved, an error message will appear. Correct any errors and repeat step 4.

Set an audience level for a LHR in text-view

  1. Navigate to the local holdings record you would like to change the audience level for, or derive a Local Holdings Record if one does not yet exist.
  2. Open the LHR editor by clicking on the barcode or call number of the LHR.
  3. From the LHR editor, click Record > Change Display to Text View.
  4. Click View/Edit in the Action column for the LHR you want to edit.
  5. Click Edit Item.
  6. Select the Audience Level drop-down and choose the desired option from the drop-down menu.
  7. Click Save Item. A confirmation message will appear that states that the local holdings record has been saved.
  8. If the record was unable to be saved, an error message will appear. Correct any errors and repeat step 7.
