Why am I getting a validation error that states a field in the OCLC Fixed Field appears too many times?
Symptom
- You receive the following validation error: 00X - occurs too many times
- When you view the record, the OCLC Fixed Field at the top or bottom of the records shows no duplicates or issues, even though you get the above validation error

Resolution
When in Connexion, if the OCLC Fixed Field view is set to display at the top or bottom of the record, the display only shows the data for one of the fields if there are multiple. This is because the software isn't expecting there to be more than one of those fields. To change the display from the OCLC Fixed Field to variable fields, follow these steps:
- In Connexion Client, open the View menu at the top of the client
- Locate OCLC Fixed Field and select Display as Variable Field in the flyout menu
- The fixed field displays as variable fields LDR (leader), 001, 005, and 008
To resolve the error, delete the data in one of the replicated fields, and validate again. If you continue to get an error after this, please contact OCLC Support.
