Replace corrupt connects.ini file

Objective
  • Prevent Connexion from crashing, help it export successfully.

Steps

Follow these steps when experiencing connectivity problems, or when you are not getting expected messages after exporting to your ILS:

  1. Close the Connexion client if it's running. 
  2. While holding down the Windows logo key on y our keyboard, hit the "r" key. This will open the run dialog box. 
  3. Type %appdata% and hit Enter. 
  4. Double-click the "OCLC" folder. 
  5. Double-click the "Connex" folder. 
  6. Find the Connects.ini (Configuration settings) file. The .ini extension may not be visible. 
  7. Right click on the Connects file and select "Delete". 
  8. Reopen Connexion client. 
  9. Navigate to Tools > Options > Export. 
  10. Click "Create" and select "OCLC Getaway Export". 
  11. Enter "Host Name" and "Port". This will vary based on your ILS. 
  12. Just in case, change the "Delay" to 20. This is to give Connexion more time to get the message from ILS. 
  13. Click "OK".
