"Unable to connect to remote server" error in Connexion
Symptom
- An error message appears each time I try to sign in to Connexion: "Unable to connect to the remote server"
Applies to
- Connexion client
Resolution
-
In Connexion, go to Tools > Options > Access.
-
Under Internet Access, switch the connection from Default to Other URL.
-
In the box, enter http://132.174.0.2
-
Try to log into Connexion again.
If the above doesn't work to resolve the problem, it could mean that there is a network or server issue occurring at this moment. Network troubleshooting can help us identify if there is an issue with the connection. Run the following commands to test the network:
- On your computer's task bar, click on the Start button.
- Type cmd into the search box and open Command Prompt.
- When the Command Prompt window opens, type
pathping connexion.oclc.org
- Hit the Enter key.
- The command will time out when it reaches OCLC, and this is expected. When the pathping command finishes, copy the information from the window and email it to OCLC Support along with a link to this help article.
