Can I retrieve thumbnail URLs from the OAI-PMH data?

Answer

The thumbnail URL is not available via the raw OAI feed.

If your client software support shis, you can create thumbnail URLs for your items using the following pattern:
https://cdmxxxx.contentdm.oclc.org/utils/getthumbnail/collection/[alias]/id/[pointer]

Steps:

  1. Locate the item URL, for example: https://cdmxxxx.contentdm.oclc.org/digital/collection/example_alias/id/123
  2. Replace the word digital with utils/getthumbnail.
  3. The resulting URL will point directly to the thumbnail: https://cdmxxxx.contentdm.oclc.org/utils/getthumbnail/collection/example_alias/id/123

This method works for any item in your collection that has an associated thumbnail.
