Manage Metadata properties

Information about Metadata properties

Add property

To add a metadata property:

  1. Select the +Add property button. 
  2. Enter a Property name.
    • Requirements
  3. Select the Property from the drop-down list. Refer to Metadata properties for more information.
  4. Optional. Add Constraints. Options include:
    • Vocabulary: Select the vocabulary to use for the property. Options include:
      • DCMI Type Vocabulary
      • FAST Corporate Names
      • FAST Event
      • FAST Form
      • FAST Geographic
      • FAST Meeting
      • FAST Personal Names
      • FAST Topic
      • FAST Uniform Titles
      • Language List (ISO 639-2)
    • Date:
  5. Determine whether the property is Required, Publicly Viewable, or Publicly Searchable by toggling the respective option.

Edit property

To edit a property:

  1. Select the Pencil icon under the Actions column in the row for the property to be edited.
  2. On the Edit metadata property screen, edit the below fields:
    • Property name.
      • Requirements
    • Select the Property from the drop-down list. Refer to Metadata properties for more information.
    • Optional. Add Constraints. Options include:
      • Vocabulary: Select the vocabulary to use for the property. Options include:
        • DCMI Type Vocabulary
        • FAST Corporate Names
        • FAST Event
        • FAST Form
        • FAST Geographic
        • FAST Meeting
        • FAST Personal Names
        • FAST Topic
        • FAST Uniform Titles
        • Language List (ISO 639-2)
      • Date:
    • Determine whether the property is Required, Publicly Viewable, or Publicly Searchable by toggling the respective option.
  3. Click Save.

Delete property

  1. Select the delete icon under the Actions column in the row for the property to be deleted.
  2. A confirmation screen will appear, alerting you to any collections currently using the property.
  3. Click Delete to confirm deletion or Cancel to retain the property.

 Note: The Title property cannot be deleted.
