How can I stop the leading zeros from item barcodes being stripped when I load a csv generated by WorldShare Reports into Excel?

Resolution

To avoid leading zeros being stripped from item barcodes:

  1. Export the file from Report Designer in CSV format.
  2. Before importing into Excel, open a blank spreadsheet in Excel and format the column which will receive the item barcodes as a 'text' column.
  3. Load data from CSV file into the spreadsheet.
Additional information

This can also be applied to other fields which have leading zeros e.g. ISBNs.
