Why are some buttons greyed out when editing an item in Circulation?

Answer

If an item does not have a barcode, the Place Hold, Create Schedule, Receive, and Report Missing buttons will be greyed out. You will need to give this item a barcode and save in order to click these buttons.

If the item does have a barcode, but these buttons are still greyed out, try clearing your browser's cache and cookies. Another way to test this is to open the same page in a private or incognito window in your browser.
