Additional information

Often there is confusion about the item type "Mass digitized electronic content". An item can appear to be an article, but still fall under the "Mass digitized electronic content" type. If you are not sure if this is the case, contact OCLC Support. The support team will need the link to the search result page, and your institution's OCLC symbol.

When determining if a record is mass digitized, a good rule to follow is if the Marc Field 029a has any of the values as [DGCNT or CNTNT or CNTCOLL or DGCOLL] or the Marc Field 040a has the value as OCLCE then the item will be considered as Mass Digitization. Mass Digitization can only be assigned to non-article, WorldCat Records with the same original and alternate types before bibliographic matching.
