I get an error when I enter an OCLC symbol(s) into the service configuration.

Answer

This error could mean that the service configuration is not able to match a portion of the data being entered to profiled data on our end.  Check that each symbol being entered has been correctly profiled by OCLC.

Verify each symbol has been registered as an Identifier for a library institution profile set up:

  1. Go to the WorldCat Registry
  2. Search the registry for each symbol one by one
  3. Look under the Identifiers tab to find the symbol

If a symbol is not found in the WorldCat Registry, retry the service config but only use the symbols that pull up OCLC profiles in a WorldCat registry search.
