Can ILLiad be run on a Virtual Machine?
Applies to
- Hosted ILLiad
Answer
The official way for ILLiad to connect to the server and database is by installing the software on a PC that connects to your institution's IP address via VPN. That said, the ILLiad Client and its associated programs can be run on a virtual machine. If the virtual machine is non-persistent, all Client settings, print templates, addons, and user preferences would need to be saved and in place prior to saving the golden image. This method is not currently a supported substitute for an installation on a PC, and OCLC's ability to troubleshoot any associated issues is thus limited.
