You may now begin to use the following changes to Holdings elements implemented as part of OCLC-MARC Holdings Update for January 2023, based on the MARC 21 Holdings format changes announced in MARC 21 Holdings Update No. 37 (December 2023):
Full-level cataloging authorizations and roles can now update non-BIBCO and non-CONSER records with encoding level (ELvl) 8 to another valid encoding level. Non-BIBCO and non-CONSER records can be identified by the absence of MARC field 042 with any of the following codes: “isds/c", "nlc", "nsdp", "lcac", "lccopycat", "msc", "premarc", "pcc", or "nst".
In Record Manager, the subfield $2 dropdown menu for the holdings field 506 was without contents. This issue has been resolved, and the dropdown menu now shows a list of the Access Restriction Term Source Codes.
The MARC relator code for Degree Committee member has been corrected from "dcg" to "dgc" to align with the MARC Code List for Relators.
