View AI Metadata Enrichment suggestions

The AI Metadata Enrichment feature sends a bibliographic record to OCLC's AI service and provides AI-selected suggestions to enhance the record. AI suggestions are based on existing WorldCat data.

In order to see AI suggestions, the following conditions must be met:

• You must be assigned the Cataloging AI user role
• You must have enabled at least one of the options for the parameter Use AI Metadata Enrichment Service in Working with Records > Bibliographic Records

1. From the MARC 21 editor for a bibliographic record, click AI Metadata Enrichment.

    Note: Suggestions can take some time to generate.

2. The AI metadata enrichment screen displays with suggested call numbers and/or subject headings.
3. For suggested call numbers, select from the following options to explore more details:
   1. Check result using OCLC number - Allows you to verify the suggestion within Record Manager by viewing the reference record
   2. Browse associated call number - Allows you to browse for the call number in your local collection
4. For suggested subject headings, select from the following options to explore more details:
   1. Check result using OCLC number - Allows you to verify the suggestion within Record Manager by viewing the reference record
   2. Search subject headings - Allows you to submit a search for the selected subject heading in WorldCat
5. Select the checkbox to the left of a suggestion to insert it into the record. 

    Note: Field suggestions that are selected and greyed out are already present in the record.

6. Click Insert.
