Field deletes and additions in records

After you customize your records and enable record delivery at the collection level, the system will process the field deletes and field additions you defined in Institution Settings > MARC Records > Customize Records

Field deletes and additions are processed in the following order:

  1. WorldCat records from WorldCat are retrieved for the titles.
  2. Your customization edits are processed in the following order so the system will not inadvertently delete the fields you are adding to your records:
    1. User-defined field deletes are processed.
    2. User-defined field additions.
