856 field processing in records

About 856 Field settings

WorldCat records include 856 fields and various URLs that are not accessible to your institution. When Collection Manager processes records for your library, it will modify the 856 fields for your records according to your customizations.

To customize 856 fields:

  1. Navigate to Settings > MARC Records > Customize Records.
  2. Complete one or both of the sections with 856 field settings:
    • Complete the Knowledge Base Collection 856 Field settings for records from knowledge base collections in Collection Manager
    • Complete the WorldCat 856 Field settings for records from query collections, cataloging partner collections, and for update records for your WorldCat holdings

For complete instructions, see Institution MARC Records settings.
