Use the Title Work List

Use the Title Work List to deselect or select titles within collections in bulk.

Select Titles to be added to the Title Work List from one collection or multiple collections. Titles can be added to the Title Work List from within one collection or from multiple collections via a title search. 

Use the checkboxes to the left of each title to add it to the Title Work List.  Once added, the Title Work List can be used to deselect or select titles in bulk. 

 Note: The Title Work List is stored in your browser cache. While it may persist across sessions, it is not designed to do so indefinitely.

Search for titles

Titles can be added to the Title Work List from within one collection or from multiple collections via a title search. Search for a title via the Search section in the left panel of Collection Manager or search for titles directly within a collection. 

Refer to Search in Collection Manager for more information about searching. 

Search for a title within a Knowledge base collection

You can also search for a title directly from within a collection.

  1. Search for a collection and click on the collection name in the results to open your desired collection.
  2. In the collection details, click on Titles to expand the accordion. 
  3. In the Search Title field, enter your terms.
  4. You can filter your results by expanding the Filter by drop-down beside the Search Title field. Options include:
    • Coverage - Date - Format date as YYYY-MM-DD, YYYY-MM, or YYYY.
    • Coverage - Enumeration - Enter a volume and issue number.
    • Coverage Depth -  From the second drop-down list, select a coverage depth.
  5. (Optional) Add additional filters by using the green plus add icon (collection-manager-add-icon.png). 
  6. Click Filter to filter the results based on your specifications.
Search for a title 
  1. Navigate to the WorldShare interface > Metadata tab > Collection Manager.
  2. Select Title as the Data Type from the drop-down list.
  3. Select a scope to limit your search. Options include:
    • My Selected Collections: Search across your library-specific collections that you have created or selected.
    • All Collections: Search across items that are available in the global collections available in the WorldCat knowledge base and collections you have created.
    • Not Selected Collections: Search for collections to add to your knowledge base that are not currently selected.
  4. Change the Title Index to one of the below options:
    • Keyword
    • Title
    • ISBN
    • ISSN
    • OCLC Number

  5. In the Search Term(s) field, enter your terms or leave the field empty.

     Note: Searching by the OCLC Number Title Index without search terms will fail to return results.

  6. Click Search.

  7. After search results are returned, you can filter your results by using the Filter by drop-down list at the top of the search results:
    • Coverage - Date - Format date as YYYY-MM-DD, YYYY-MM, or YYYY.
    • Coverage - Enumeration - Enter a volume and issue number.
    • Coverage Depth -  From the second drop-down list, select a coverage depth.
    • Provider - From the second drop-down lists, select or search for a specific provider.
  8. (Optional) Add additional filters by using the green plus add icon (collection-manager-add-icon.png). 
  9. Click Filter to filter the results based on your specifications.

Add titles to Title Work List

From the search results or collection Titles drop-down,

  1. Select each title to be added by using the checkboxes on the left side.
    • To select all titles on the page, select the checkbox in the top row. Click through additional pages to add more titles from the results. 
  2. Once selected, the item count in the left navigation menu next to Title Work List will update to reflect the number of Titles added.

 Note: Add up to 500 titles to the Title Work List. 

To remove individual titles from the Title Work List, select the remove button Collection_manager_remove_button.png next to the desired title.

Use the Title Work List

 Note: The Title Work List is stored in your browser cache. While it may persist across sessions, it is not designed to do so indefinitely.

From the Title Work List screen:

  1. Select the Work List Actions drop-down. Options include:
    Action Description
    Select all Titles Choose this option to select these titles to appear within knowledge base collections.
    Deselect all Titles Choose this option to deselect these titles from your knowledge base collections. 
    Clear List Clear the Title Work List to remove the titles currently appearing on the list. 
  2. Once an action is taken, the list will appear as Successfully submitted. Once it finishes processing, an Operation complete status will appear and the result of each title will appear in the Results column.

  3. Once the operation is complete, users can use the New List drop-down to create one of the following:
    1. New Empty List
    2. New List with Failed Titles
  4. Title Work List Activity will appear in the Collection History as well as the Activity History with two possible activities
    • Title Work List Selected
    • Title Work List Deselected
