Dewey Linked Data is a read-only electronic version of the Dewey Decimal Classification® (DDC) system represented as linked data. Using the the DDC system and FAST (Faceted Application of Subject Terminology) data, Dewey Linked Data provides linked data identifiers for established classifications and subject headings. Discoverability is prioritized so that you can navigate and explore hierarchical and equivalence relationships and find new connections that enhance discovery of library resources.

Functions provided by Dewey Linked Data:

  • Associations between Dewey numbers and Library of Congress subject headings as additional access points to the DDC
  • Awareness of the latest changes to the Classification via the frequent updates made to WebDewey
  • Thousands of additional Relative Index terms as additional access points to the DDC
  • Ability to view the entity type and URI for established DDC classifications and subject headings
