Name cannot begin with the 0 character error

Symptom
  • You attempt to open a record inside Connexion and the error "Name cannot begin with the '0' character, hexadecimal value 0x30, Line 1, position 132" appears.

Resolution

Please contact OCLC Support with the Local save file that you are getting the error in, the record number bringing up the error, your name and your library's OCLC symbol.

Additional information

This error is a corruption of the data in the file possibly stemming from deletion of a duplicate in the record list. If you recently deleted a record in the list and have a backup from before then, you may be able to resolve this by going to your backup.
