IP Addresses and port ranges for Connexion browser

Symptom
  • IP Addresses and port ranges for Connexion browser
Applies to
  • Connexion browser
Resolution

  1. Connecting to OCLC via the Connexion browser:

The IP Address for connecting to OCLC via the Connexion browser: 132.174.11.2

When connecting, most Connexion browser users do not need the actual IP address, they can use http://connexion.oclc.org/

Because of firewalls, some institutions must use the actual IP address listed above.  They do not need to enter a range of IPs because the load balancers will parse the users out to available IPs.

IP Addresses and port ranges for exporting via the Connexion browser:

Port range: 30000-30499.  ALL of the ports in this range MUST be open.

    IP Addresses for exporting:

132.174.2.0/24; the entire range must be provided.

All IP addresses used for Connexion browser TCP/IP export are in the range of 132.174.2.0/24.  Institutions that have a firewall must configure it to recognize and accept data from this entire IP address range.  This range is dedicated for OCLC outbound production traffic and will not permit traffic from other sources; additionally opening the firewall to this range of addresses allows users to perform TCP/IP exporting without repeatedly updating their firewall configuration as OCLC increases capacity.

The full list of IPs is (but encourage users (for above reasons) to enter the range 132.174.2.0/24 rather than individual IPs):
