ISBN and ISSN numbers are indexed up to the first parenthesis only.
In FirstSearch and Collection Manager query collections, ISBN and ISSN numbers can be searched with hyphens.
When searching for LCCNs, the year at the beginning should be formatted so that years up to 1999 are searched as the last two digits of the year and years 2000 on are searched as four digits. The remaining numbers are searched as a sixdigit number with leading zeros.
A number can have a prefix that is searched as connected to the number (e.g., ne642560 searches for ne64002560 and 64002560).
A number without a prefix searches for numbers with and without prefixes. To search for a number that has no prefix and only return those numbers, include a circumflex (^) before the number (e.g., ^64002560 returns 64002560).
