Why are duplicate article records surfacing in a Discovery search?
Applies to
- WorldCat Discovery
- WorldCat.org
- WorldShare Collection Manager
Answer
Article records with unique identifiers are added to the Central Index by various providers. Knowledge base collections match to those records using the title and the ISSN. Currently, we cannot merge these records because they are coming from the Central Index. They are article-level duplicates, and we have no way to combine them.
Additional Information
Duplication can also happen on Bibliographic records with OCLC numbers.
