Local holdings record (LHR) field mapping

The chart on this page shows how WorldCat Discovery maps local holdings records to OCLC MARC tags.

Local holdings are displayed on the detailed record in the Holding Summary and in the access options on the right side of the screen. If configured, the brief search results display LHR information.

When you have configured URLs formatted in HTML to display in the free text fields listed below, they will display as clickable hyperlinks in the WorldCat Discovery interface to allow users to link to specific resources.

  • Shelving location notes
  • LHR notes
  • Holding summary notes
  • Knowledge base eLink notes

 Notes:

  • Articles with an OCLC number will display the corresponding LHR for that article. If the institution has configured a call to their local OPAC, the holdings will display for the OCLC number if found in the institution's OPAC.
  • Articles with a unique identifier will display the corresponding LHR for the held ISSN. If the institution has configured a call to their local OPAC, holdings will display for the OCLC number of the ISSN if found in the institution's OPAC.
