Discover how to download the WorldCat Find app to your mobile device and set your location.

Download the WorldCat Find app to your mobile device

  1. Download the app from the Apple or Google Play app store by either searching for WorldCat Find in the app store or using a link below.
  2. The WorldCat Find splash screen appears the first time you open the app. Tap Start here to open the Find items near you screen.
     Note: By tapping Start here, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the OCLC WorldCat.org Services Terms and Conditions and the OCLC, Inc. Privacy Statement.
  3. From the Find items near you screen, select one of the following:
    • Allow - Location services are enabled. You'll be taken to WorldCat Find's homepage.
       Note: By selecting Allow, you choose to allow WorldCat Find to automatically detect your location using your device's GPS. Your location is used only to find library items near you. If you choose to allow location access, it is only captured when you choose to update your location. Your location is not tracked while you are not using the app.
    • Not now - Location services are disabled. If you select this option, you'll be taken to the Location services disabled screen. From this screen:
      • To find nearby locations that hold items related to your search:
        1. Enter your city name or postal code in the Address or postal code text field. This is an auto-suggest text field. Auto-suggestions for field-appropriate elements start after the third keystroke in the text field.
        2. Tap your location in the suggested location drop-down list.
        3. Tap Continue to be taken to WorldCat Find's home screen.
      • To decline nearby location suggestions and be taken directly to the WorldCat Find home screen, tap Skip setting location.

Add or update your location

If you choose not to initially share your location or want to change it, you can enter it at any time from WorldCat Find.

  1. Tap Set your location if you did not share your location initially.
    Or
    Tap the location above the search field if you want to change your location.
  2. From the Location dialog:
    1. Enter your city name or postal code in the Address or postal code text field. This is an auto-suggest text field. Auto-suggestions for field-appropriate elements start after the third keystroke in the text field.
    2. Tap your location in the suggested location drop-down list.
    3. Tap Update.
      Or
      Tap Use my location to use your exact location.
