Why does our Resource Sharing Lender Reasons For No Report state the reason SYSTEM CHECKED LACKING KNOWLEDGEBASE?

Applies to

  • WorldShare ILL
  • Tipasa

Answer

The SYSTEM CHECKED LACKING KNOWLEDGEBASE reason indicates that the request was not within your knowledge base defined coverage. It can also indicate that the collection in which the title is selected is set to ILL Allowed? - No.

Check your library's settings in OCLC Service Configuration > WorldShare ILL > Interlibrary Loan Options > Knowledge Base Integration. If you have the "Select whether you wish to activate a link to the Library's WorldCat knowledge base for enhanced Interlibrary Loan of articles" setting turned on, requests are being denied if they fall outside of the coverage provided in Collection Manager. If no coverage date is provided for the title, the request will be denied.

If you receive this reason on a request that should have come through, review your coverage for the title in Collection Manager and confirm that the collection is set to allow ILL.
