Interface modernization for Tipasa
Modernization overview
These modernized pages are designed to improve accessibility, usability, and navigation, ensuring clearer organization of information as well as the use of modern components, elements, and behaviors.
The modernized interface will provide a solution that enables efficient staff workflows and prepares for compliance with ADA Title II and accessibility requirements by April 2026. Here are a few examples:
- Enhanced accessibility: Higher contrast for text and icons, paired with improved font sizing, ensures compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) AA standards. These updates make the platform easier to read and navigate for all users.
- Clear visual design: Buttons, tabs, and navigation elements are now more distinct and intuitive, creating a consistent user experience that benefits all users, including those relying on assistive technologies.
- Improved navigation: Consistent headings, uniform data grids and tables, and keyboard-navigable components ensure structured, predictable navigation for users, including those using assistive technologies.
Informed by library feedback
We’re working closely with a group of libraries to develop and refine these modernized pages, incorporating their valuable feedback throughout the design process. More than 75 libraries participate in the preview phase, using the pages and sharing insights that help shape the final release. Deactivate the modernized interface
Use this setting in the WorldShare ILL module of the OCLC Service Configuration to deactivate the modernized interface in Tipasa and return to the legacy interface.
This setting is enabled by default to use the modernized interface that was released in November 2025. To deactivate the modernized interface for your institution:
- Navigate to the User Interface Settings section of the WorldShare ILL module in OCLC Service Configuration
- Deselect the Enable modernized interface option.
- Click Save.
Note: This toggle does not affect new features released to the preview group on a rolling schedule. The preview group features can only be enabled and disabled by OCLC internal staff.
