Inactive library and locations
It is possible to set a consortium member to inactive, e.g., during a holiday period, or to set specific locations within a library to inactive, e.g., if a collection or collections are not available during a renovation, thereby preventing requests from being set to this library or to these locations while still allowing patrons from this library to search and submit requests.
To set a whole library to inactive:
- Using the Windows client, login to Library Registration and retrieve the library record, e.g., PENN.
- Click Login to display Relais - Login Information.
- Click Library Active = No.
- Click Update.
- Logout.
Once this update is done this library will not be used in any routing lists for any new requests submitted to Relais D2D.
To set the library to active:
- Using the Windows client, login to Library Registration and retrieve the library record, e.g., PENN
- Click Login to display Relais - Login Information.
- Click Library Active = Yes.
- Click Update. A prompt will appear to reset load balancing.
- Click Yes to reset load balancing.
- Click OK.
- Logout.
Once this update is done this library will again be used in routing lists for any new requests submitted to Relais D2D.
To set a specific location or locations to inactive:
- Using the Windows client, login to Supplier Registration retrieve the supplier record for the relevant location.
- Click Supplier Active = No.
- Click Update.
- Repeat this for each location to be made inactive.
- Logout.
Once this update is done, in Requestability any items from this location(s) will be considered not requestable.
To set a specific location or locations to active:
- Using the Windows client, login to Supplier Registration retrieve the supplier record for the relevant location.
- Click Supplier Active = Yes.
- Click Update.
- Repeat this for each location to be made inactive.
- Logout.
To reset load balancing:
- Login to Library Registration and retrieve the library record, e.g., PENN.
- Click Billing to display Relais - Billing Information.
- Select Reset Load Balancing from the Options pull-down menu. A prompt will appear to reset load balancing.
- Click Yes to reset load balancing.
- Click OK.
- Logout.
Once this update is done, in Requestability any items from this location(s) will once again be considered requestable.
Caution: Load Balancing
The Relais.ini on the local workstation running the Windows client must include the following section for the 'Reset Load Balancing' functionality to be active:
